Self-taught painter, I chose to love beauty and difficult challenges. It all started with an unconditional love for Flemish painting and in particular Bruegel. My first paintings were inspired by this Artist, but over time I broadened my range. My favorite themes are landscapes, still lifes, and genre scenes. I work each canvas with precision from a preliminary drawing that I create and which allows me to establish my composition on solid foundations.
I then carry out the oil painting in glaze in the style of the ancients. Far from the perfections of cold hyperrealism, I take immense pleasure in bringing my landscapes to life with numerous characters. I am particularly fond of medieval times and in general everything that evokes the splendours of the past. I wish to convey to the viewer an atmosphere, a perfume, the colors of the Art of Yesteryear.
